MAJLIS EARTH

A rewilding programme rooted in sacred stewardship — recovering land through ceremony, traditional ecology, and the conviction that the natural and human worlds are inseparable. Named after the first king of Persian mythology, who is said to have lived in harmony with the natural world, it recasts conservation as a civilisational and spiritual act rather than a technical one. The programme works with communities whose relationship to land has never been purely extractive, building frameworks that honour both ecological science and ancestral knowledge.

Mapping living traditions of plant medicine across South Asia, the Caribbean, and West Africa — preserving ecological knowledge before it disappears with its last custodians. Drawing on the mythological search for the Sanjeevani herb in the Ramayana, the initiative treats traditional plant knowledge as both a cultural inheritance and a living ecological practice worth recovering and transmitting. It works with elders, healers, and communities to document, archive, and in some cases revive what remains.
